The Challenge

The customer's NUM 760 CRT had become so dim that the operator could no longer read tool offset values. The 9-inch monochrome display was original to the machine — over 15 years old — and replacement CRTs were completely unavailable. A full control upgrade was prohibitively expensive. The customer needed a practical LCD replacement that preserved the existing control and required no parameter changes.

The Solution

We engineered a custom 9-inch TFT LCD module specifically for the NUM 760's MVB 241 NU display interface. The module reads the NUM's monochrome video signal directly — no external converter or frame grabber required. The LCD mounts in the original CRT housing using the same screw holes, preserving the factory appearance. DC 24V power is drawn from the same rail the CRT used. The entire upgrade is plug-and-play and completely reversible.
