Common CNC CRT Display Problems
After 15-30 years of operation, CRTs develop characteristic failure modes:
- Blank screen / no display — Heater or flyback transformer failure. CNC still operates but screen stays dark.
- Dim display / low brightness — Phosphor degradation from extended use.
- Flickering or shaky image — Sync circuit components drift out of spec.
- Horizontal/vertical line collapse — Deflection circuit failure.
- Burned-in image / ghosting — Static elements permanently visible on phosphor.
The CNC control itself is typically still functional — replacing just the display with our LCD module restores full visibility.
