Common FANUC TX-1450AB CRT Failures
The TX-1450AB is a 14-inch color CRT on FANUC 10/15 series controls. Color CRTs develop distinct failure modes from their monochrome counterparts:
- Missing one color or color shift — R/G/B driver transistor failure on the CRT neck board. Common on aging color displays.
- Dim / blurry image — CRT gun emission degradation. Color balance shifts as the three guns age unevenly.
- No display / dead unit — Flyback transformer or deflection failure. The CNC runs but the screen stays dark.
- Intermittent display — Cold solder joints on the yoke or neck board, typical after 20+ years of thermal cycling.
The CNC control itself is typically fine. Our LCD module restores display without any control modifications.
Color CRT Signal Wiring (HONDA 20-Pin)
Unlike monochrome A61L variants, the 0074 uses separate analog RGB (0.7V) with TTL sync.
